A 2 years old boy has been taken to the hospital after barely surviving by being half swallowed and spit out by a fierce hippopotamus in Katwe Kabatoro, Uganda.
The incident was happened on December 4 at around 3 PM according to the official time in the Katwe-Kabatoro district southwest of Uganda.
The boy who lives nearby the Lake Katwe in Rwenjubu cell by shore of the river when it all happens.
_ It took the bravery of a one Chrispas Bagonza, who was nearby, to save the victim after he stoned the hippo and scared it, causing it to release the victim from its mouth, _ an official spokesperson from the Police Force said in the statement.
Fortunately, the boy is fully recovered, according to the police and also received a rabies vaccine before being returned safe and sound to his parents.
_ Although the hippo was scared back into the lake, all residents near animal sanctuaries and habitats should know that wild animals are very dangerous. _ said the statement.
The official statement of Uganda is trying to inform people to stay away from wild animals and try to find places to live far away from wildlife.
Hippos are known as one of the most dangerous animals in the world. According to National Geography an only bite is able to split a canoe in two.
Hippopotamus killed 27 in two months last year in Uganda. Nowadays estimates are that there are about 6000 hippopotamus in the country.
